My Input
I created all the assets through Adobe Illustrator, making multiple drafts on how to figure out my artstyle for the game. It took a few iterations and feedback from others to get a solid base for the art since it was my first time doing digital artwork. Along with designing the cards and core gameplay, the project made me appreciate rules more than before with how valuable they are in any game, regardless if it's physical or digital. They are the core information hotspot that players will default to when they are confused and need to know more. You need to understand your audience so you know what to cover in your rules such as brainstorming multiple scenarios that can arise, sketching out how the game is played visually, and figuring out what to do if players skip some rules entirely because the rules look bland or absurd. Rules need to be appealing and concise to the player so they can enjoy the game rather than making it feel like a chore to fully understand how to play correctly.
The artstyle was inspired by Untitled Goose Game with the gameplay inspired by Among Us.
