Multi-Project - Python, PlayingCards.io, Phaser - 2019, 2020
Fruit INvaders
Worked with Matthew Hoover as a fellow programmer to redesign Space Invaders with different mechanics and artstyle. Matthew focused on the programming and gameplay implementation while I focused on original asset creations for the art and audio to reskin the game. The game design behind the reskin and reimplementation was to add a new mechanic of specific fruit ammunition for specific targets. While clearing out the field of hungry people, the player must shoot the appropriate food that will remove them from the field. Otherwise, the fruit is repelled back to the player and acts as ammunition for the enemy.


Overcooked Card Game
Worked with Zeyu Zhang, Fernanda Maria Becerra, and Ryan Palmberg as designers to adapt the game Overcooked into a card-game. We wanted to transfer the chaotic co-op gameplay and theme of cooking to a physical media. Each deck has appropriate ingredients and actions for the players to have on their own board while seeking cooperation from other players to complete as many food orders as possible. Zeyu and I focused on the rules design and mechanics implementation into the program while Fernanda and Ryan focused on art assets.


Rocket Patrol Mods
In a fast challenge to add mods/mechanics that wouldn't deter away from the original game, I aimed to focus on modifying the gameplay rather than the aesthetic. You are able to maneuver the player's ship even after being shot, as well as being able to aim for a faster object that spawns less frequently and has a smaller hitbox. With the new addition of an object, there needs to be a purpose for the two different ships and the game now tracks the highest score that has been recorded in the game session.
